An ON-DEMAND Dysphagia Assessment Course for SLPs...
Master Dysphagia Evaluations Across Diverse Healthcare Settings
Build your clinical confidence and conduct assessments grounded in evidence and the realities of community practice, because dysphagia looks different when home is the clinical setting
ENROL TODAY!You're seeing clients in their homes, in aged care facilities, in disability accommodation...
And you are doing your best with training and tools that were developed for a hospital setting.
Maybe you're watching someone eat and wondering if what you're seeing is actually significant.
Maybe you feel like your documentation is overly vague, or repetitive, because you're not sure how to put your clinical reasoning into words.
If you've STRUGGLED THROUGH ASSESSMENTS more times than you'd like to admit, it probably has less to do with your skills and more to do with a lack of training for the settings you're actually working in.
The evidence base for dysphagia has changed significantly in the last 10 to 15 years. Most university courses haven't caught up. And almost none of them were built with community-based speech pathologists in mind.
That is exactly why I created The Clinical Swallow Evaluation Course. I've been in your shoes, making the move from hospital to community practice and realising that everything I knew how to do didn't translate.
So I built this course because no one else was building it for us.
Introducing
The Clinical Swallow Evaluation Course
A course built specifically for speech pathologists assessing adults with dysphagia outside of a hospital setting, because what works on the ward doesn't always work at the kitchen table
A Comprehensive Course, Built for the Settings You Actually Work In
This comprehensive, evidence-based course takes you through every element of the clinical swallow evaluation.
From case history to clinical documentation, you'll learn how to conduct skilled, person-centred assessments across a range of diagnoses, such as intellectual disability, dementia, Parkinson's Disease, TBI & Stroke and other progressive and developmental disabilities. . You'll also learn how to apply everything you're learning to your actual caseload, not just a textbook stroke patient.
Most dysphagia education is still heavily shaped by acute care, which means it doesn't fully translate to the environments you're actually working in. This course was built from real community-based experience and founded on evidence-based practice.

Hi, I'm Chantelle Hutchinson
I’m Chantelle Hutchinson, a speech pathologist with 15 years of experience working across home health, aged care, disability, outpatient, and inpatient settings.
After spending five years as a clinical manager supervising a team of 15 speech pathologists, I kept seeing the same gap: clinicians at every level, from new graduates to senior speech pathologists, didn’t feel equipped to assess dysphagia outside of a hospital.
I had been there too, trying to apply skills I’d learned in a hospital to patients in community-based settings where the risk profile, patient support needs, and goals were totally different.
And that’s why I built this course. Community-based SLPs deserve training that actually reflects the work they’re doing. The content is practical, relevant, and grounded in the latest evidence.
Let's Break it Down

The Content Was Practical and Clinically Relevant
"I found the course really valuable and practical, particularly in how clearly it structured the clinical swallow evaluation process and linked assessment findings to clinical reasoning.
It helped strengthen my confidence in completing and interpreting CSEs more systematically. Since doing the course, I've been more deliberate in how I approach dysphagia assessment and documentation, and more aware of the need to base recommendations on clinical reasoning rather than routine practice alone.
I really appreciated how the content was practical and clinically relevant, and I think it would be very useful for speech pathologists wanting to build confidence in dysphagia assessment."
~ Echo, Speech Pathologist
